Marc Damon has been in the music business as a DJ & presenter for over 40 years working in Clubs, on the Road and on Radio both here in the Algarve and in the UK ......Marc was best known as the resident DJ at Scamps in Sutton (7 years in fact) Radio wise he worked on Radio Jackie and then joined Brian Anthony on JFM. When JFM closed he moved to Solar Radio. Marc’s voice was well known on commercials running on most of London’s Pirates, made in his home studio. His broadcasting career in the Algarve started back in 1986 with "The London Connection" originally recorded every week in London and in those days sent over by post which took 4 or 5 days. Thank goodness for the Internet now, making it possible instantly. Marc was responsible for starting Radio Lollipop at Queen Mary’s Children’s Hospital along with Dave Glass, his colleague at Radio St. Helier Hospital Radio and raising a lot of the money necessary. In the 90’s he was also a director of Eclipse FM (and Station Manager), which was a Cable Radio Station on Telewest TV. Their studio was based in Times Square Shopping Centre in Sutton. In 1995 Marc moved to the Algarve and has lived here permanently since. Marc continued to work with Kiss Fm Algarve (run by his best friend Paul Buick - friends for nearly 40 years!) and also ran a mobile service providing musical entertainment for all ages & occasions for Parties, Functions and various Events across the Algarve. Marc's voice has been in much demand for Radio and TV advertising and in the Audio / Visual world where he often voiced DVDs and Videos. In 2008 Marc started a website called Servicesalgarve.com with useful info and news about Algarve and also put it on Facebook in 2013, using it also for people to contact him during his radio show on Kiss FM (Algarve). The page became very popular and was used more than the website, so when Marc retired at the end of 2014 he decided to carry on with the Facebook service from home and still does so today, to provide followers with plenty of info about Algarve and Portugal and to keep himself occupied.
